simply wow. haha.
we are into day TWO into the Sentosa National Byte Championships and today was nothing, absolutely nothing like yesterday.
yesterday
it rained really heavily in the morning and guess what? after rain there's absolutely no wind at all so we were kept on shore until like 1 plus? haha. we just played around- cards, funny hand games, whatever. when we finally launched with okay-ish wind, got out there ready to race, the wind just totally died. we even started a race but it turned into a total stale mate cos no one could move. we just ended up drifting back and i got some shut eye while being towed back to shore
bad wind. but good fun :P
today
today was completely the opposite. the morning was really clear and there wasn't a drop of rain in sight. not a drop. there wasn't even a cloud in the sky. there was a slight delay in launching but ah, we managed to get there promply at about 11 anyway. so much for wasting time. but the wind was fabulous. it was strong but not too strong. strong enough to keep your boat speeding , waves crashing against it, strong enough to hike out till your bum touches the water. yet light enough to keep on the boat and not capsize. up wind especially was awesome. tiring no doubt. but really cool. haha. because when you hike out all the way you really feel like you are flying, speeding across the surface of the sea, watching the waves pass beneath you. it's a really nice feeling. perfect wind.
BUT the sun, oh my god, was so so so blazing hot. really felt like a deja vu. like march. one day and that's it - i got my stupid ugly yucky tan back. don't laugh at me. haha. what's worse i got 3 days to go. wen i get back to school i'll be really well roasted, top to toe. oh yay my fingertips are brown :)
there's alot of foreign sailors competing as well there's sailors from Germany, Myammar, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Hong kong, UAE, Indonesia and Belgium. pretty cool eh?haha they are also really good. and when we bathe there is so much chatter in the bathroom, which is actually normal, but now in so many different languages.
oh! and i beat Zeng Woon today =D wahahaha. second out of all the TK sailors - can't catch Clayton. 72 out of 140 plus? just okay only.
back to the boat tomorrow. i'll be dreaming of the boat, the crazily hot sun and sea tonight and hope it storms bad.
so well goodnight!
cheers.
