Yes, the countdown has began. Officially 4 days more folks!
i’ve just come back from Bali (on friday) so this post is gonna take a while to read cos i’m gonna chuck loads of photos. Bali’s awesome!
we stayed here… ^
got lovely drinks as we checked in.
my mum’s room
it had an amazing garden in front! and that was the door
so you come out and you’re greeted with flora and fauna ;D
even the bathroom was beautiful!
part of the garden in the bathroom!
the restaurant overlooked the river/stream
and had brill food xD
we went to quite a few arts stuff, well Bali is quite well known for their arts (: my mum had batik done on her shirt!
the batik gallery. my dad bought a nice big one
Bali painting. such skilled artists...
wood carving. you must be terribly skilled and patient to do wood carving. i was looking around their gallery and wow some of the statues have such intricate designs that it must have taken them ages and so much skill to carve! i mean, give me a block of wood to go carve i’d probably make a big mess! haha
and one of the most beautiful parts of Bali must be the rice fields..
we visited quite a few temples.
elephant cave temple
the temple on the crater lake. meaning it’s at the lake which is high up in the mountains! was such a beautiful place
see! it’s the picture on their 50000 note! haha.
and we visited the largest and most grand temple in bali. also up in the mountains! it’s known as the ‘mother’ of all the temples in Bali.
we also watched a couple of performances, like the Barong dance ^
haha thats the barong
the food and the restaurants were amazing as well! yeah we had loads of milkshakes as you can see ;D
view from the lunch restaurant on the first day. it was like on the mountain and it overlooked the valley
view from the lunch restaurant on the second day and believe me it was absolutely gorgeous! i repeat, i had THAT view in my face as i had lunch! and it was like on the ridge in the mountains too! so that mountain, actually it was a volcano, was on another mountain and there’s also a lake at the foot of it!
dinners were pretty good as well cos nearly every restarant we went to had performances in it (:
Bums away!!! xD
yup that was Bali. loads of arts, culture and beautiful places like in the mountains. not just beach and surf eh?
also on Friday i caught Twilight with Jamie and Cynthia.
I really enjoyed it, it was better than i had expected (: and i’d say it’s quite a job well done. though there were some parts missing here and there and the story was slightly altered i still think it wasn’t so bad and agree with what Stefanie Meyers said: ‘it’s impossible to take such a long book and make it a movie without cutting some parts’ or something along those lines. and most of the script is exactly what is said in the book too so yeah i’d say the movie was pretty good.
and then there’s such a hullabaloo about Edward and how Rob Pattinson’s not good enough to be Edward and blah blah blah, all that rubbish. seriously i’m quite sick of everyone whining about this. i for one, think he did quite a good job with edward, especially when edward is a pretty hard character to protray. of course there were a few flaws about him and there are some ways he can improve but still i acknowledge his effort and i feel he played edward pretty well. so thumbs up for Rob i say.
also everyone keeps saying he’s not good looking enough to be edward. i mean, come on. Edward in the book isn’t even a human so his beauty would be inhumanly so how on earth can a human match up to what everyone expects of edward? and also what Stefanie Meyers said too : ‘it’s not like we can find real vampires to play them anyway’. besides everyone imagined edward differently and the movie can’t possibly portray edward how every single person imagined him to be. so these comments about edward (in the movie) not being good looking enough is very subjective. it’s kinda like if edward in the movie isn’t what some people imagined him to be then too bad. everyone shouldn’t go slagging him off like that. and people should keep their nasty comments to themselves.
there done ranting. honestly it’s not directed at anyone in particular but it’s how i feel generally towards this big ‘problem’ everyone seems to have and i have been pretty annoyed by it for ages.
and to all those who fear that the movie would change their perspective of the book or whatever, i doubt it’ll really cos believe it or not i re-read twilight yesterday! haha. and i read it the same as before. nothing really changed. then again it could be just me – i’m not so particular about the looks of things and people when i read.
erm so enjoy your sunday! and don’t forget Christmas is coming!! :D
